Visiting Cathy

We're at the Franklin County RV Park in Pasco, Washington.  It's not a greenspace near a river, like Hood Park where we stayed last year.  But each site has a bit of lawn and the park is just ten miles from the home of Jim's sister, Cathy, who lives in nearby Kennewick. And Cathy is the reason we're in Kennewick.

The first part of our drive from Rainbow Beach to Pasco/Kennewick/Richland, Washington (also called the Tri Cities) was a ride on the Gifford Ferry.  The free ferry takes passengers from Inchelium, Washington, on the west side of Lake Roosevelt to to US- 25 on the east side of the lake.  If you click on the photo you can see the ferry making its way to Inchelium.
The view out the front window of the rig as we cross Lake Roosevelt on the Gifford Ferry.  Without the ferry it's a 50-mile drive to get to the other side of the lake.  The ferry is operated by the Colville Federated Tribes.
Cathy and Jim.  The sibs share a January 20th birthday.
Cathy and her newest grand daughter, Emily, who was born in May.  Emily is a sweetie and we got to hold her.
