Babysitting job

Mia and Marshall
One of the reasons we came back to SLC when we did was because I'd promised Ashley and Shad (our daughter and SIL) that we'd watch their kids while they went on vacation.  Sounded like a good idea at the time. Fortunately, we had charge of 3-1/2 year-old Mia and one-year-old Marshall before I hurt my knee.

Mia and Marsh were both well-behaved, pretty much went to bed on time, and stayed healthy.  Helping us survive the truism that "you have kids when you are young" were my son, Paul, who flew in from Cleveland, and Shad's twin sister, Serene. Plus, the kids are used to going to day care and we kept up that routine -- although we picked up Mia early to do "something what's fun" as her Mom said at that age.  What's fun included two trips to Salt Lake City's wonderful main library (riding the glass elevator was a big hit), two trips to "Old McDonald's," a visit to "Jump Around Utah" that might have included a trip to the emergency room (or earlier knee surgery) for me if I'd stayed much longer, and an afternoon at Utah's Hogle Zoo.
